The Imperial Party

Glorious Nations!!

I'm creating a political party, the first ever of it's kind in the Royal Federation of Nations. This political party shall be named the Imperial Party. The Imperial Party looks in standing for Peace and Defending, Justice for all, and greater regional exposure! Not to mention a rapid speed, hard hitting recruiting theme aimed to jolt the nations of NationStates to our region. To build and promote a stronger economy for our region! Regionalism is our motto and exposure is our idea. Expansionisim is the name of the game, so if you're a Regionalist then this political party is the one for you!

Each nation that joins will receive one month of free membership in the Imperial Nation Committee (INC). After that, each member will pay a monthly membership fee of 500 credits. Why a membership fee you might ask? To pay for the exposure in the regional forum and for any other events! As new political parties arise, we will be ones with the most on going events!

As a member, we will meet once a week to discuss the agenda for the week and what is expected from all members. Stay tuned for the date of the first meeting (beginning with the first 10 members) which will include developing a party manifesto, discuss any issues, and any public announcements!

No. We agreed to not having a representative democracy as opposed to the direct democracy we currently have. There is no rule saying you can't make a party. It just won't have an official status on the assembly

Alancar is right. Political parties in this region will only better establish how people will want this region to be run either as a collective voters in the Council or in a leadership position.

The only problem is political parties in a region such as this may lead to an oligarchy. Once we get into partisan politics, then we enter a realm of identity politics (Identifying with a party, thus voting for that party). I've argued this before: This could lead us to a system where one party is always in control of the elected positions. The party that has affiliates in the majority of the Federation Council will most likely elect only their party. In which case, the minority party has to spend their time trying to convert majority party members to their side or heavily recruit new people just to be able to turn the tide at some point.

It's a scenario to think about.

I would like to join because it seems like it will be interesting either way it ends up. I also enjoy a centralized theme of how to govern this region.

Like Washington said. Multi Parties will be the end of the U.S. And look where it got the U.S. I don't want that happening to the RFN.

You know, personally I wouldn't call two parties, "multi" parties.

The Imperial Party supports a future run by Blluedevil for Chairman of the RFN!!

actually im going independent, political parties do seem quite pointless

the only thing that political parties do:

approve its members proposals in the congress/federation council.

It also gives an idea of what the majority of people want for the region.
